SuonareStella X IED | “Reach for the Stella” apartment

The “SuonareStella X IED” project finally reaches its last, highly anticipated, phase.
Born from the collaboration between the influencer SuonareStella and IED Milano, “SuonareStella X IED” saw over 180 students as protagonists, who were given the opportunity to interact with the furniture design sector for the first time.
Numerous high-end furniture brands were involved for the occasion, including Baxter, Gallotti&Radice, Moroso, Oluce, Roberto Molteni Interior Decoration and WallPepper®, with whom the students were able to discuss and interact to create two separate furnishing projects, one for the home of the influencer Paolo Stella and one for the showcase of the Milanese showroom Salvioni Milano Durini.
From the early stages of the project, Salvioni Design Solutions played a key role in structuring and shaping what followed, offering not only its spaces on Via Durini, but also the skills of its team of professionals to orchestrate “White Canvas”, an exhibition from which IED students were able to draw inspiration as a 360° furnishing project, complete with all its parts.
White Canvas included two different installations, one in the SuonareStella house and one inside the windows of the Salvioni Milano Durini showroom, each characterized by the presence of white furnishings that, just like a blank canvas, offered a neutral vision of the different environments.
An inspiration, in short, that IED students did not hesitate to grasp, giving rise to more than fifty furnishing projects subsequently evaluated by a commission composed of Paolo Stella, representatives of IED Milano, Salvioni Design Solutions and the brands involved.
This panel of judges proclaimed the winning project: “Reach for The Stella”, created by the three students Ilinca Moisă, Zhazira Akhmet and Laura Tavera, soon translated into an installation inside the windows of the Salvioni Milano Durini showroom.
In addition, each actor involved then nominated their own winning project, chosen based on more specific criteria such as adherence to the corporate identity, narrative ability, communication and much more.

After the Salvioni Milano Durini windows, the “Reach for The Stella” project was finally transposed inside Paolo Stella’s apartment, modifying the spaces to give them color, shape, structure and above all, that touch of aesthetic genius that allowed Ilinca Moisă, Zhazira Akhmet and Laura Tavera to win first place among the many competing projects.

From the entrance, the visitor is welcomed into a first space dominated by two sofas, Aura by Baxter and Gruuve by Moroso, in the center of which stand out the Shiny Gogan, Mangiafuoco and Nanook tables by Moroso.
Further on, the bow-window in gold shades sparkles, enriched by the elegant Loom table by Baxter and surrounded by Gallotti&Radice chairs. The color choice adopted aims to give a touch of refinement and splendor to the whole, giving life to an extremely iconic space.
Turning around, you find yourself in a relaxation area with gentler colors, with a Pacific sofa by Moroso and a playful gathering of Gallotti&Radice tables including Haumea and Monete, accompanied by the Aura pouf by Baxter. Further to the side, a pair of Audrey armchairs by Gallotti&Radice and the Parsec desk by Baxter with the 0414 chair by Gallotti&Radice.

The lighting of each room was curated by Oluce, which is responsible for a precious range of proposals including the G.O, Coupe, Dora fumè, Medusa, Alba and Superluna table lamps. The composition inside the bow-window is fascinating, with the Sonora Lamp in gold finish, placed here to create a true luminous firmament.
The beauty of this project can be seen in the mastery with which the students were able to mix furnishings from different companies, creating a common dialogue between them that nevertheless lives and breathes a new and, above all, its own identity. The talent shown in knowing how to combine different colors and materials is also undeniable, offering a completely new perspective to an environment that thus changes face and soul, rediscovering itself in a completely new guise.

With this final phase, the “SuonareStella X IED” project is coming to an end, but many others are just waiting to begin to give further proof of how rich and multifaceted the world of design is, and with it, those who are part of it.
