The Heart Cone Chair was born as a splendid derivation of the well-known Cone Chair, designed to recall the shape of a cone enriched with padding and devices designed to transform a simple geometric shape into a contemporary design seat. The name of the Heart Cone Chair derives precisely from the heart shape of the back, wide and elegantly shaped, capable not only of teasing the imagination, but also offering a new interpretative inspiration to the classic bergère armchair. A work, in any case, that does not leave you indifferent and indeed stands out precisely for its heterogeneity compared to many other proposals of the genre. With his numerous designs, Verner Panton was able to anticipate Pop Art in many respects and the use of unconventional geometric shapes in a modern key.

Verner Panton
Verner Panton (1926-1998) has long been considered the enfant terrible of Danish design. His creations, visionary and colorful, have made the most of the characteristics of new materials such as plastic and polyurethane and have led the world of Scandinavian design into the future. Panton contributed more than any other designer to the constitution of Space Age design between the 1960s and 1970s. His creations, with bright colors and visionary shapes, are so iconic that they are still very current today. After starting his career as Arne Jacobsen's assistant, Panton toured Europe in his Volkswagen Transporter van and then settled in Basel. There began a long and fruitful collaboration with Vitra which resulted in several undisputed masterpieces such as the immortal Panton Chair, the first plastic chair in history made in a single piece. He also worked extensively with Louis Poulsen, the most important Danish brand in the lighting sector, and his creations also appear in the catalogs of brands such as & Tradition and Georg Jensen. His avant-garde installations were also famous, such as the surprising Visiona 2 created for Bayer at the Cologne Motor Show, or his as many futuristic interior projects, such as the headquarters of the newspaper Der Spiegel in Hamburg. After his death, the Verpan brand was founded in Denmark, dedicated to the reissues of some of his most famous creations.Read more
