Solar Sofa
Price starting from € 9.321,00*
*Price valid for the version with upholstery in fabric cat. B (cod. SLRDV240).
A piece of furniture for the living space, which also lives in other situations where there is a need to insert a comfortable and at the same time sophisticated upholstery. Solar seems like a manifesto of contemporary style, which at first glance seems like a pile of cushions but if observed more carefully reveals a much more complete and detailed stylistic research. Faye Toogood created it with a new interpretation of the iconic Tacchini upholstery in mind. The covering is not soft, but deliberately material to give personality to the whole. Overall, Solar represents an exception of extreme taste compared to the Tacchini catalogue, a visual and formal experiment that fascinates and offers experiences of absolute comfort.

The Tacchini company was founded in 1967 in Seveso. A soul mainly oriented towards contract marks the first years of its work, later increasingly aimed at enhancing quality, style, taste, but above all the use of materials that are able to express the Made in Italy craftsmanship quality. Today Tacchini Italia presents itself as a trendy brand, attentive to contemporary influences and capable of giving life to iconic models that perfectly match the needs of our time. Upholstery and seats act as cornerstones of the Tacchini Italia catalog, also strong in re-editions by great masters of the past and proposals by emerging designers.Read more
Designed by
Faye Toogood
Faye Toogood (1977-) is one of the most multifaceted talents in contemporary British design. His works range from the fashion sector to the furniture sector, passing through interior design, in an irregular path that begins with a degree in Art History at the University of Bristol and then continues as a stylist at the renowned magazine " The World of Interiors” published by Condé Nast until culminating in the opening of his own studio in 2008. Both his clothes and his furnishings bear the mark of a pure aesthetic, based on ecru colours, imperfect materials and solid sculptural forms , capable of giving life to placid and contemplative environments, with an almost sacred touch. Most of her creations are marketed directly by herself through the T-O-O-G-O-O-D brand; among them the ubiquitous Roly Poly armchair stands out, a real piece of furniture-symbol of the design of the early 20s of our century. Roly Poly is also produced under license by Driade in a plastic version, while other brands Faye Toogood has collaborated with are cc-Tapis, Hem, Pease Wait to Be Seated and Bitossi Ceramiche.
