The Sesann sofa is one of the most shining examples of how the Tacchini brand is able to give a new life to historical furnishings of the past, managing to keep their flavor intact thanks to a rigorous philological work and at the same time to make them current and perfectly integrated into contemporary projects. In fact, Sesann originally saw the light in 1970, designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina: the use of the metal tubing to support the structure is typical of the period, which in Frattini's idea also becomes a lively decorative element in its contrast with the leather and the lining fabric. The most recognizable element of this linear sofa are the armrests, tightly enclosed by the tubular that ripples them in a myriad of folds giving the sofa an impression of kinetic force held back and ready to explode.

Designed by
Gianfranco Frattini
Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004), architect and designer, was part of the "golden generation" that between the 1950s and 1960s led Italian design to establish itself as a protagonist on the world stage. Paduan by birth, he studied at the Milan Polytechnic and he worked all his life in the city of Milan, first as a collaborator in Gio Ponti's studio and then on his own, dedicating himself above all to interior architecture and product design. Very active in the associative and dissemination fields, he was a founding member of ADI and he was a member of the Triennale Council for many years. Among his many collaborations, those with Cassina, Artemide, Arteluce, Bernini and Acerbis are worthy of note. A great lover of wood, he also forged a solid partnership with the celebrated cabinetmaker from Brianza Pierluigi Ghianda. In recent years, the revival of the Mid-Century style has led to a renewed interest in his figure with highly successful reissues of some of the most famous products offered by brands such as Tacchini and Poltrona Frau.Read more
