The company was founded in 1920 in the heart of the "Brianza del Mobile" in a small shop specialized in the production of solid wood furnitures. During the next fifty years, the classic style of Riva1920 craftsmanship combined with the extreme enhancement of living wood has become hallmarks of the brand, internationally known today as the top range representative in woodworking.
In 1990, Riva1920 marries the culture of reforestation by starting the production of solid cherry wood furniture which will be followed by other reused woods such as the millenary Kauri from New Zealand, the Briccole from the Venice Lagoon and the Cedar from Lebanon.
Today Riva1920 stands out in the field of handcrafted furniture production for its ability to create unique models and completely customizable in each detail.Read more

Marc Sadler
Marc Sadler (1946-) is an appreciated and prolific French designer active mainly in Italy. Born in Innsbrück, Austria, he completed his studies at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and then dedicated himself for many years to the sportswear sector. In this context, he successfully experiments with the applications of new plastic materials, establishing fruitful and long-lasting collaborations with Italian companies such as Caber (later to become Lotto) and Dainese. Thanks to these partnerships, he was able to spend more and more time in Italy and finally decided to move to Milan and found his own studio there, expanding the business to include furniture design as well. Also in this area he has maintained his predilection for the use of the most innovative plastic materials, once again obtaining great success: he has won 4 Compassi d'Oro awards so far in his career (1994, with the Drop lamp for Flos; 2001, for the Tite and Mite lamps by Foscarini; 2008, with the Big bookcase for Caimi Brevetti and 2014 with the Bellevue ice cream counter for IFI). Among the numerous brands that still present his products in the collection, we mention, in addition to Foscarini, also Désirée Divani, Pedrali, Ethimo, Fabbian, Italamp, Masiero, Martinelli Luce, Slamp, Riva 1920, Serralunga, Slide, Bosa and many others.
