Turner is a bookcase that was born in 1963 as Model 823. Gianfranco Frattini draws it inspired by the classic English center-room bookcases, intended for the “books of the heart” to always keep at hand. However, this magazine is at the forefront of contemporary taste, standing out for the choice of fine materials and innovative design choices. The three-level supporting structure develops vertically like a building, alternating grooves and tracks that allow you to add or remove a series of dividing panels. In this way, different combinations can be created in a game of solids and voids.

Poltrona Frau brings in any kind of environment, from home to office, its characteristic taste for leather-covered furnishings. The company grew out from the intuition of Renzo Frau who, moving in Torino, founded his workshop in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The Piedmont city was the ideal stage for the proposals of the young entrepreneur.
From the beginning, Poltrona Frau furnishings attract the attentions of the bourgeoisie and the Savoy Aristocracy, strongly fascinated by the international taste. The company’s collections embodied the timeless beauty of the Made in Italy design, despite a remarkable stylistic inflection in the Edoardian taste. In those years came to life iconic products such as the historic model 904, better known as Vanity Fair, the Chester armchair, which recalls the Chesterfield style, and the model 1919.Read more
Designed by
Gianfranco Frattini
Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004), architect and designer, was part of the "golden generation" that between the 1950s and 1960s led Italian design to establish itself as a protagonist on the world stage. Paduan by birth, he studied at the Milan Polytechnic and he worked all his life in the city of Milan, first as a collaborator in Gio Ponti's studio and then on his own, dedicating himself above all to interior architecture and product design. Very active in the associative and dissemination fields, he was a founding member of ADI and he was a member of the Triennale Council for many years. Among his many collaborations, those with Cassina, Artemide, Arteluce, Bernini and Acerbis are worthy of note. A great lover of wood, he also forged a solid partnership with the celebrated cabinetmaker from Brianza Pierluigi Ghianda. In recent years, the revival of the Mid-Century style has led to a renewed interest in his figure with highly successful reissues of some of the most famous products offered by brands such as Tacchini and Poltrona Frau.Read more
