From the genius of Pierluigi Cerri comes Ouverture, a sofa with a strong personality and compositional refinement. Conceived in the early 1980s, Ouverture refers to industrial and metropolitan suggestions, without ever neglecting a special touch of craftsmanship. The protagonist of the seating and table system is a perforated steel beam on which soft goose down padding rests. The shell is made of painted steel sections to ensure maximum solidity and resistance. The feet slide along the beam. The seats have a discreet suspension obtained with an elastic suspension. The seat, back and armrest cushions are in goose down with polyurethane foam insert. A sofa with a lively character that is well suited to sophisticated living rooms.

Poltrona Frau brings in any kind of environment, from home to office, its characteristic taste for leather-covered furnishings. The company grew out from the intuition of Renzo Frau who, moving in Torino, founded his workshop in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The Piedmont city was the ideal stage for the proposals of the young entrepreneur.
From the beginning, Poltrona Frau furnishings attract the attentions of the bourgeoisie and the Savoy Aristocracy, strongly fascinated by the international taste. The company’s collections embodied the timeless beauty of the Made in Italy design, despite a remarkable stylistic inflection in the Edoardian taste. In those years came to life iconic products such as the historic model 904, better known as Vanity Fair, the Chester armchair, which recalls the Chesterfield style, and the model 1919.Read more

Pierluigi Cerri
Pierluigi Cerri (1939-2022), architect and visual designer, went through the history of Italian culture in the late twentieth century in various guises. After graduating from the Milan Polytechnic, where he also played the role of teacher alongside Umberto Eco, he joined Vittorio Gregotti and Augusto Cagnardi in 1974 to found the Gregotti Associati studio. Leaving large public commissions to his colleagues, he specialized in small-scale projects and interiors, as well as in set-ups and the study of graphic identities. His relationship with the publishing world was particularly relevant, with collaborations with many of the largest Italian publishing houses, from Einaudi to Skira, from Bompiani to Electa. Other fruitful relationships were those with the fashion world, with the curation of brand identities and stores for brands such as Trussardi and Prada, and with the furniture sector, collaborating with Poltrona Frau, UniFor, Desalto, De Padova, Riva 1920 and Milan firmament. In his career he won the Compasso d 'Oro three times (1995, 2001, 2004). He is also known for his successful cruise ship and yacht design business.Read more
