From the same inspiration that gave life to the Archibald armchair, a true cornerstone of the Poltrona Frau company, comes the Archibald bed, an example of elegance and aesthetic power. This bed is available in several sizes, with feet of different heights and colors that can also be customized, depending on the style of the room. The essential Frau leather makes up the upholstery, available with a canvas back, useful when placed against the wall. Archibald is also designed to accommodate fixed, manual or electric rest surfaces and mattresses of various sizes.

Poltrona Frau brings in any kind of environment, from home to office, its characteristic taste for leather-covered furnishings. The company grew out from the intuition of Renzo Frau who, moving in Torino, founded his workshop in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The Piedmont city was the ideal stage for the proposals of the young entrepreneur.
From the beginning, Poltrona Frau furnishings attract the attentions of the bourgeoisie and the Savoy Aristocracy, strongly fascinated by the international taste. The company’s collections embodied the timeless beauty of the Made in Italy design, despite a remarkable stylistic inflection in the Edoardian taste. Jean-Marie Massaud (1966-) is one of the most relevant contemporary French designers. In his projects he manages to combine elegance and practicality with great wisdom, thus creating timeless products, always fresh and captivating. Graduated from the Ecole National Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris, in 2000 he founded a studio together with Daniel Pouzet. With a keen nose, he immediately proved to be very skilled in interpreting the tastes of customers and in the creation of bestsellers, so much so that he established important collaborations with several of the most prestigious international brands. He has established a close collaboration with Poliform, a company of which he has been one of the leading designers for years, but has also achieved great success with brands such as Poltrona Frau, MDF Italia, Cappellini, B&B Italia, Axor, Arper, Glas Italia, Cassina, Dedon and many others. There are also numerous collaborations far from the world of furniture, such as the one with Toyota, for which he created a concept car, or the famous cosmetics brand Lancôme.Read more
