Soori Coffee Table
Soori is a coffee table with strong shapes and a distinctive solid structure. Architect Soo Chan designed it for a Hotel in Bali, inspired by the traditional vases used in the tourist villages of the paradisiacal Indonesian island. Available in different sizes and heights, Soori therefore behaves like a piece of furniture-object, paying homage to the view with its stage presence impossible to ignore. The structure is in painted copper / brass, also available in lacquered polyurethane for some particular versions. The particular design of the top allows a sort of resistivity to slipping, giving the possibility to exploit Soori to the best of its potential. Perfect for any room in the house, while paying attention to living and convivial spaces.

Soo K. Chan (1962-) was born in Malaysia in the famous village of Khoo Kongsi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and studied architecture in the United States at Washington University and Yale. Settled in Singapore, he founded SCDA Architects Pte Ltd there and he has established himself as one of the most prominent architects in the wealthy city-state. The "Singapore Designer of the Year" won in 2016, during the first edition of the "President’s Design Awards" in Singapore, stands out among the numerous international awards that can be boasted. The SCDA studio has over 150 designers and three different offices, including Singapore, Shanghai and New York, and specializes in high-end projects in both the residential and hospitality sectors, such as the Soori Bali Hotel or the Soori High Line residence in New York. He also designed his own line of furniture for Poliform.Read more
