Graceful and surreal, Raimond is a lamp that seems to be inspired by the future and by a design idea that focuses on the essence and the ability to enhance the use of materials thanks to unique, visually attractive geometries. The Raimond lamp by Moooi was born as a perfect sphere of mathematical ingredients and a punctuation made of tiny LED lights. The effect reminds a starry night. Transparent lenses are affixed close to each light in order to guarantee a uniform and shadow-free diffusion. Thanks to the attention to these details, Raimond fits well in different contexts, from dining rooms to restaurants, lounges, halls and more.

Young and fresh, Moooi is the most sparkling pearl in the dutch design world. The heart of the brand is Marcel Wanders, its founder and artistic director, who has brought together promising talents from all the Netherlands (and others), leaving them free to give full vent to their imagination. Surreal and postmodern, the atmospheres designed by Moooi push themselves towards forms never seen or imagined, or play to recuperate traditional themes and styles, reversing the yield with an ironic touch.Read more
Designed by
Raimond Puts
The Dutchman Raimond Puts (1937-2012) cannot be considered a real designer, but rather a technical designer and an "old school" inventor. His training and his studies are too different from those of modern designers: the young Raimond has been passionate about design since he was a child, playing with Meccano, and continues to experiment as a self-taught over the years, first tinkering with transistor machines and then moving on to various creations based on metals and recycled materials. At the basis of his creations there is an in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects and mathematics (a subject for which some sources cite him as a university professor, but it seems that it is a legend born precisely because of his extreme competence). An eclectic character, Puts gave life to all his inventions from a houseboat on the canals of Amsterdam, and achieved recognition and fame only late in life when his series of Raimond lamps was mass-produced by the Moooi brand. Immediately becoming a great design classic, this lamp earned him the Woonproduct award in 2010, a few years before his death.
