Moooi
Carbon Chair
Price starting from € 1.102,00*
*Price valid for the version in black carbon fiber - without any additional cushions (cod. 8718282340180).
The Carbon Chair by Moooi is the result of an experimentation by its designers Marcel Wanders and Bertjan Pot with a material with still largely unexplored potential such as carbon fiber, ten times stronger than steel and at the same time very light. The seat and back of the Chair feature numerous carbon fiber filaments intertwined with each other with the effect of a spider's web. The thin legs are also made of carbon fiber, modulated into a single sled structure attached to the body by means of screws. Given the characteristics of the material, the chair can also be used as outdoor furniture. Carbon Chair can optionally be made more comfortable with the addition of a seat cushion, but in this version it is only suitable for indoor environments.

Young and fresh, Moooi is the most sparkling pearl in the dutch design world. The heart of the brand is Marcel Wanders, its founder and artistic director, who has brought together promising talents from all the Netherlands (and others), leaving them free to give full vent to their imagination. Surreal and postmodern, the atmospheres designed by Moooi push themselves towards forms never seen or imagined, or play to recuperate traditional themes and styles, reversing the yield with an ironic touch.Read more
Designed by
Bertjan Pot
Bertjan Pot (1975-) is an appreciated Dutch designer, famous among the general public above all for his extravagant image of a "masked designer": one of his best-known works is in fact a series of extravagant and very nice rope masks, imaginative combinations of primitivist inspirations and research on materials personally chosen by him in numerous iconic shots. Graduated from the Design Academy of Eindhoven in 1998, Bertjan Pot founded and co-directed the Monkey Boys studio together with Daniel White, later starting his own business based in Rotterdam in 2003. One of his most fruitful collaborations is that with the Dutch brand Moooi, together with which he created award-winning products such as the Random Light lamp (1999, probably his best-known and best-selling product) or the Carbon Chair (2004, part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and winner of the Elle Decor Award as best seat of the year). Among the other brands with which he has worked are Hay, Golran, Richard Lampert, Lensvelt, Mustache and many others. Lui received the Dutch Design Prize for best interior product in 2007 (won with his Slim Table produced by the Arco brand) and has been the protagonist of numerous exhibitions around the world.
