From the creative genius of Afra and Tobia Scarpa comes MHC.3.Miss, an incredibly elegant and evocative seat, able to structure itself on a continuum of soft lines that create rhythms and tunes. The legs are thin and slightly apart to promote stability. The front ones, in particular, fold to transform first into armrests and then into the wide backrest, expertly cut to accommodate the body and promote relaxation. The rear ones are connected to it by propping up the structure. The seat fits between the vertical lines creating a point of union. This cushion is padded to promote a feeling of comfort. Tobia Scarpa has redesigned the joint of the armrests to make it more linear and comfortable.

Collaborations with renowned international designers and technological innovation made Molteni&C. a benchmark for the whole furnishings industry. The history of the company began in 1934 when in Giussano the "Arredamenti Angelo Molteni" was founded, a small artisan workshop specialized in the production of furniture.
In the ‘40s, the company became one of the national furniture production leaders, with an exponential growth that brought the company to hire more than 60 employees, recruited among the best artisan workers.Read more

Tobia Scarpa
Tobia Scarpa (1935-), son of the great architect Carlo Scarpa, has managed during his career to be credited with a strong artistic personality and not to remain confined to his father's shadow. He shared his entire sentimental and professional life with his wife Afra Bianchin (1937-2011), whom he met during architecture lessons at the IUAV in Venice, who co-signed with him all of his most important projects. The couple designed their first important projects for the company of Dino Gavina, a great friend of their father, which was later sold to Knoll. At the same time, they were accredited among the very first designers of two young companies born a few years ago and both destined for a great future: B&B Italia and Flos. Over the years other selected collaborations followed with major brands such as Cassina, with which Tobia won the Compasso d'Oro in 1970 for the Soriana sofa, and Molteni & C. Their career as architects was instead strongly linked to the Benetton company, of which they designed the first fabric factory and several shops around the world.Read more
