Molteni&C
Graduate Bookshelf
The Graduate bookcase by Molteni & C. is signed by the French archistar Jean Nouvel and represents a real exercise in design virtuosity: it is in fact a very light suspended bookcase in which the entire composition is supported by the upper shelf, fixed to the wall or to the ceiling, to which thin technologically advanced tie rods are attached, which act as a support for all the lower shelves. The impression is that of a "cascade bookcase", with a measured and balanced sign, awarded with several international awards such as the ADI Desogn Index, the Red Dot Design Award and the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In the ‘40s, the company became one of the national furniture production leaders, with an exponential growth that brought the company to hire more than 60 employees, recruited among the best artisan workers.Read more
Designed by
Jean Nouvel
Jean Nouvel (1945-) is the most prominent figure in the field of contemporary architecture in France. His work, pervaded by a continuous tension towards the new, refuses to be harnessed in the definition of a single current and proceeds to a complete palingenesis with each new project, while maintaining constant attention to technological innovation. He has been awarded countless prizes, from the Golden Lion of the Venice Biennale to the Royal Gold Metal of the British Institute for Architecture, from the Wolf Prize in Art to the most dress of all, the Pritzker Prize, obtained in 2008. Among his great works, the Institute of the Arab World in Paris deserves a mention, which brought him to world attention, the iconic Torre Agbar in Barcelona, the mysterious Musée du quai Branly in Paris and his most recent creations in the Arab world, such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the National Museum of Qatar. His career as a designer is closely linked to a brand like Molteni & C., which has always been used to working with great architects, but also has collaborations with brands such as Artemide, MDF Italia, Emu, Glas, Nemo and many others.Read more
