Luca Meda
Luca Meda (1936-1998) was an Italian architect and designer who played a key role in defining the identity of one of the most important Italian design brands, the Molteni Group. He lived all his life in Milan, where he completed his studies at the Brera School of Art, except for a brief experience in Germany to attend the famous Hochschule für Gestaltung, better known as the "School of Ulm", a great center of theoretical conceptualization. of design. His entry at Molteni as art director took place at the end of the 1970s and constituted a decisive turning point for the company, which with him passed from stylish furniture to modern design, also reorganizing production in an industrial sense and specializing in simple forms without time and versatile modular creations. Meda did not limit himself to personally signing great best-sellers for all the brands of the Group (Molteni & C., UniFor and Dada), but also involved great personalities of design and architecture in the design work, starting with his great friend Aldo Rossi.Read more
