Luceplan
Light and technology go hand in hand in the projects of Luceplan, a company born under the sign of innovation. Preceded by years of experimentation and research before been launched on the market, Luceplan lamps have a high-tech look and full of ingenious and revolutionary ideas. An emblematic example is the famous Costanza lamp, in which a simple touch of the dimmer - consisting of a thin bar next to the speaker - is sufficient to allow the device to switch on. Francisco Gomez Paz
Francisco Gomez Paz (1975-) whose creations have been awarded the Compasso d’Oro twice (in 2011 and 2020). He lived for many years in Milan, where he attended a master’s degree at the Domus Academy before collaborating for several years with the same institute in the fields of research and teaching. His early years of work were marked by collaborations with two of the most creative minds on the Italian design scene, Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto, two designers who were particularly attentive to the technical aspects of production processes that would also remain one of the key points of Gomez Paz’s design practice. It was precisely with Rizzatto that he co-signed the product that won him his first Compasso d’Oro, the Hope lamp produced by Luceplan and which soon became a great bestseller. It was also for Luceplan that some of his other most successful creations would see the light, such as the Mesh chandelier, in parallel with new collaborations with brands such as Danese Milano, Vibia and Astep. In 2014 he opened an atelier-workshop in Argentina where he experimented with new self-produced creations, distributed under the brand Gomez Paz Design & Crafted. Among these, the innovative Europia wooden chair stands out, handcrafted without the use of a single nail, which earned him his second Compasso d’Oro in 2020.Read more
