The Panthella lamp is one of the great masterpieces of the Louis Poulsen company, an example of design and great craftsmanship that has always been able to distinguish the company among the great international furniture manufacturers. Panthella was born in 1971 thanks to the studies of the designer and architect Verner Panton whose desire was to create an object that reflected in its forms the radiation of light within a space. Panthella's soft and exquisitely rounded lines have been able to keep faith with his vision, developing a concept that has increasingly diversified over the years, creating extremely detailed colors and stylistic adjustments. In 2020 Louis Poulsen introduced a new version of Panthella with a diffuser screen to avoid any type of shadow on the opal part.

Louis Poulsen was born in 1874 with the idea of producing luminous furniture strongly inspired by the tradition of Scandinavian design. A clear and functional trait has therefore inspired the origin of numerous pieces made so that each is able to reflect and support the rhythm of natural light. Every single detail of the Louis Poulsen collections follows a specific purpose and nothing is ever exclusively aesthetic, design and more. A deep bond with craftsmanship makes each piece unique, created almost tailor-made by the hand that orchestrates the final details, orienting a serial production towards the creation of almost unique and impossible to replicate pieces.Read more
Designed by
Verner Panton
Verner Panton (1926-1998) has long been considered the enfant terrible of Danish design. His creations, visionary and colorful, have made the most of the characteristics of new materials such as plastic and polyurethane and have led the world of Scandinavian design into the future. Panton contributed more than any other designer to the constitution of Space Age design between the 1960s and 1970s. His creations, with bright colors and visionary shapes, are so iconic that they are still very current today. After starting his career as Arne Jacobsen's assistant, Panton toured Europe in his Volkswagen Transporter van and then settled in Basel. There began a long and fruitful collaboration with Vitra which resulted in several undisputed masterpieces such as the immortal Panton Chair, the first plastic chair in history made in a single piece. He also worked extensively with Louis Poulsen, the most important Danish brand in the lighting sector, and his creations also appear in the catalogs of brands such as & Tradition and Georg Jensen. His avant-garde installations were also famous, such as the surprising Visiona 2 created for Bayer at the Cologne Motor Show, or his as many futuristic interior projects, such as the headquarters of the newspaper Der Spiegel in Hamburg. After his death, the Verpan brand was founded in Denmark, dedicated to the reissues of some of his most famous creations.Read more
