Astair Coffee Table
With n.03 Supporting Stems
Price € 1.035,00
The Astair coffee table by Ligne Roset is a reinterpretation of the timeless typology of the "pedestal table", as comfortable as it is versatile. In this case, the designer and artist Pierre Charpin focuses all his attention on the combinations of colors and the skilful use of rounded shapes. Base and top, both circular, are made in the same shape and in the same material, a precious white Carrara or black Marquinia marble, and are connected to each other by a lacquered tubular aluminum stem of marked post-industrial inspiration, which somewhat recalls the handrail of a subway. The aluminum is red lacquered when combined with the black Marquinia marble tops and black lacquered when matched with the white marble tops.

Designed by
Pierre Charpin
The French Pierre Charpin (1962-) is an artist lent to design. The son of a sculptor, he has been involved in furniture and product design since the 1990s, while always keeping the role of drawing central to his creative process. This is how products with clear-cut contours are born, with primary shapes that are easy to recognize and to imprint on memory. After a few years of training in George Sowden's studio in Milan Charpin returned to Paris and found the right humus to express his aesthetics above all in the limited series collections created for galleries, such as the Parisian Galerie Krèo or in the Milanese Post Design (heir of the Memphis collective of which Sowden had already been a leading exponent). Elected designer of the year at the Maison & Objet fair in 2017, his works appear today in the catalogs of brands such as Ligne Roset, Hay, Danese Milano and Alessi.
