Shade was born as a marked sculptural aspiration on the part of Lema and its creator, Francesco Rota. Together these two strong personalities of contemporary design have been able to create something unique, an element of the dining room that lives perfectly even in living spaces or more formal environments. The base is made up of plates arranged in an asymmetrical cross in platinum bronze or nickel light painted metal. The floors above can be rectangular or oval in wood, clay, marble and more, depending on taste or pre-established function. Shade has generous dimensions, ideal for those looking for an important and luxurious piece of furniture.

Lema has marked several key stages in the industrial history of Italian design. Some of the most important inventions of the modern modular furniture are owed to this company, such as the introduction of load-bearing systems or cabinets tailored to the customer's needs through a fully industrialized process. The heart of the company is the large factory designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in the '70s, still at the forefront of the industry, where products such as the famous wardrobe program Armadio al centimetro or the Selecta bookcase system are born.Read more
Designed by
Francesco Rota
Francesco Rota (1966-) is an appreciated Italian designer. He completed his studies in Switzerland, at the European headquarters of the prestigious ArtCenter College of Design. His design studio has been open since 2018 and is famous above all for two great collaborations: the one with Paola Lenti, for whom he designed most of the furnishings, and the one with Lapalma, of which he has been the art director since 2013. In both he they rediscover the distinctive traits characteristic of his style: a refined taste for color, always delicate but without fear of daring, an attention to comfortable shapes that know how to look beyond the fashions of the moment and a marked sensitivity for composition. Other famous brands he has collaborated with are Lema, Living Divani, MDF Italia and Oluce. His works have received several important international awards: from the Honorable Mention to the Compasso d 'Oro (won three times) to the RedDot Design Award, from the Good Design Awards to the Wallpaper * Design Award and many others.Read more
