Kristiina Lassus
Okoa Rug
With delicate oriental touches, the Okoa rug by Kristiina Lassus draws inspiration from the forms of traditional Japanese art. The flower represented on its surface is the Ume, a white plum blossom, which in Japanese culture is a symbol of life and hope. The flowers dot the carpet with a rarefied grace, which makes them look more like an abstract motif than a realistic figuration. Made with 100 Tibetan knots, with short pile, Okoa is available in different color variants which result in as many original interpretations of the same background motif.

The refined luxury of Kristiina Lassus rugs is the result of a unique cross of cultures and traditions, embodied to perfection by the figure of the Finnish designer and entrepreneur transplanted to Italy who brought with her the famous Scandinavian attention to natural harmonies, blending it with the chic taste typical of Italian design. The original mix is then completed in far-off Nepal, where all the pure Tibetan wool, linen and silk carpets are woven entirely by hand according to ancient traditional techniques.Read more

Kristiina Lassus
Kristiina Lassus (1966-) is a Finnish designer active mainly in the carpet sector through the brand of the same name. After studying in Helsinki and Stockholm she moved to Italy in 1997 and made Milan the base of your activities. Her carpets are the result of a delicate sensitivity capable of blending Nordic minimalism with refined oriental suggestions. Above all, the charm of naturalistic inspirations dominates, inherent in neutral colored textures that communicate a sense of peace and serenity. In addition to her own carpet brands, Kristiina Lassus has also designed products in the past for brands such as Alessi, Zanotta and Poltronova, as well as covering the role of Design Coordinator for the Finnish brand Artek in her youth (from 1994 to 1997).
