A strongly suggestive piece of furniture that embodies and in the same way enhances the power of light and its reflections inside the house. Planet was born from the creative genius of Tokujin Yoshioka and is completed by other suspension, table and metal structure elements. The most recent floor version is available in different heights, to better adapt to home environments. Particular in Planet is the ovoid shape of the transparent diffuser, characterized in turn by a faceted surface both on the inside and on the outside, deliberately different to create greater and more harmonious plays of light.

Color and imagination, but also an excellent technical mastery of the materials: with these weapons, Kartell has managed to make the most of a traditionally economical material such as plastic, creating products with a high design content perfect even for the most luxurious homes. Founded in 1949 by the chemical engineer Giulio Castelli, Kartell started its production with small high-level design objects, developing over time on increasingly consistent sizes and shapes, thus arriving to offer colorful and functional furnishing accessories with affordable prices to everyone.
Recognized the high potential of plastic materials and thanks to the fruitful collaboration with the architect Gino Colombini, in the following years Castelli was able to undertake a long series of experiments that led to the conquest of the first Compasso d'Oro in 1955. In those same years the lighting division was inaugurated with the first collection signed by the Castiglioni brothers.Read more

Tokujin Yoshioka
Tokujin Yoshioka (1967-) is one of the most famous contemporary Japanese designers. The measured poetry of the installations and objects he draws comes to life from a perfect fusion between the teachings of traditional Japanese style and the use of innovative techniques and materials. His creations emanate a magical and dreamy atmosphere thanks to a great mastery of the effects of light and transparency. Yoshioka was able to count on great masters: after graduating from the Kawasaki Design Institute in Tokyo he was able to work first for Shiro Kuramata and then for the designer Issei Miyake, for whom he was responsible for setting up the showrooms. Opened his own studio in Tokyo since 2000, he has designed projects of great importance such as the Water Block benches for the Orsay Museum in Paris or the Olympic Torch for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He has also worked with many important Italian furniture brands such as Kartell, Moroso, Driade, Desalto, Lema, Glas Italia and Mutina.Read more
