The Mos bench is a functional piece of furniture designed by GamFratesi. It acts both as a seat and as a container with an open shelf. The bench is a contemporary reinterpretation of a piece of furniture from the past, ideal for use in the sleeping area at the foot of the bed, or in an entrance hall or living room. The bench is visually light and delicate, has an elliptical shape and is finished with attention to detail. The shell is made of enveloping Vienna straw, which hides the lower support surface and connects the seat to the feet with brass tips. The table top and seat cushion are upholstered in a variety of materials. The MOS bench is part of the family of containers designed by GamFratesi which includes console, sideboard, bookcase and coffee table.

All design history books begin with the same name: Thonet. In fact, thanks to the research made by the German cabinet maker Michael Thonet on the bending of wood, the industrial production of furniture began. In 1842, Thonet was invited by Chancellor Metternich himself to continue his activity in Vienna, and it was precisely in the capital of the Hapsburg Empire that he founded the Gebrüder Thonet Vienna (GTV) involving his five sons. The company left an indelible mark and the Gebrüder Thonet Vienna chairs went to connote the style of an era, selling millions of pieces all over the world thanks to a cutting-edge distribution network.Read more

GamFratesi
GamFratesi studio, founded in Copenhagen in 2006, is one of the brightest names in the firmament of contemporary Danish design. It can count on the heritage of two of the greatest national traditions in the history of design: it is in fact made up of the Danish Stine Gam (1975-) and the Italian Enrico Fratesi (1978-). A successful melting pot that has released great creative energies, combining the typical Danish attention to craftsmanship and the importance of a simple and authentic design with the Italian drive for conceptual research and the pursuit of elegance. The duo went through years of profound renewal of the Danish design scene as protagonists, once again the protagonist of the world scene thanks also to their creations. In fact, they led a brand like Gubi to international success through the creation of products already considered “contemporary classics” such as the Beetle chair, as well as working for historic brands such as Fritz Hansen, Fredericia, Louis Poulsen and Hay. In more recent years they have also enjoyed great success with the most famous Italian companies, appearing as protagonists in the catalogs of giants such as Minotti and Poltrona Frau. They have also collaborated with De Padova, Dedon, Gebruder Thonet Vienna, FontanaArte, Porro, Dedon and many other top-tier brands.Read more
