Gebruder Thonet Vienna
Chignon Armchair
Price starting from € 2.291,00*
*Price valid for the version with frame in stained beechwood and upholstery in fabric cat. A (cod. PTCHIGTES).
A choice in contrast to the predominantly classic line of the company, Chignon represents a lighter and more casual art form, attentive to modern tastes and fashion trends. The physiognomy is soft and compact, imbued with a veiled retro note that gives it a great compositional balance. The structure is entirely in curved wood and designed to envelop but at the same time contain the sinuosity of the padded part. The seat, comfortable and voluminous, offers excellent support to the body for all those who wish to relax. The backrest is gathered in two beech curls that resemble two chignons. The armchair is thus incredibly feminine and elegant, perfect for connoisseurs of unconventional design.

All design history books begin with the same name: Thonet. In fact, thanks to the research made by the German cabinet maker Michael Thonet on the bending of wood, the industrial production of furniture began. In 1842, Thonet was invited by Chancellor Metternich himself to continue his activity in Vienna, and it was precisely in the capital of the Hapsburg Empire that he founded the Gebrüder Thonet Vienna (GTV) involving his five sons. The company left an indelible mark and the Gebrüder Thonet Vienna chairs went to connote the style of an era, selling millions of pieces all over the world thanks to a cutting-edge distribution network.Read more
Designed by
LucidiPevere
LucidiPevere is a design studio led by Friulian Paolo Lucidi (1974-) and Luca Pevere (1977-), who had already met while studying at the Milan Polytechnic. Appreciated and prolific, they specialize in the design of furniture and lamps with clean lines, with a functional and very contemporary look. The studio has been active since 2003, shortly after the apprenticeships of the two (carried out by Paolo Lucidi with Piero Lissoni and Marc Sadler, while Luca Pevere trained first with Clino Trini Castelli and then with Marco Ferreri), and is based in Palmanova in Friuli Venice Julia. Among their most fruitful collaborations are those with Kristalia and with Emu, but several of their products have been put into production by countless Italian and international brands, including Foscarini, De Padova, Ligne Roset, Roda, Arrmet Gebrüder Thonet Vienna , De Castelli, Horm, Lema , Wittmann and Driade.
