Drizzle Bookshelf
The Drizzle bookcase by Gallotti & Radice, designed by designer Luca Nichetto, seems to play with gravity: its spacious glass shelves are supported only by very thin vertical supports of different heights and sizes, positioned according to a staggered pattern almost to recall the delicate exercise of a equilibrist. The very name of the product, Drizzle, indicates in English a light drizzle, to which the small supports are recalled like so many drops that fall in an irregular pattern. Perfectly stable, Drizzle is a freestanding bookcase that can also be used in the center of the room or as a divider between different environments. Gallotti&Radice was one the first Italian companies introducing the use of crystal in the creation of design furniture. The mastery in the processing of this complex and multifaceted material has characterized over the years the entire Gallotti&Radice production, in balance between sophisticated industrial technologies and craftsmanship, able to grant the maximum customization. Luca Nichetto
Luca Nichetto (1976-) is perhaps among the great contemporary Italian designers the one with the most international approach. He lives in Stockholm and runs his studio there, proposing his fresh and functional style through collaborations with many brands around the world: from Scandinavia to Spain, from France to Italy, for him, design has no borders. Yet in all this he brings with him a very strong territorial imprinting: he was in fact born and raised in Murano and there he took his first steps as a designer, already collaborating at the age of 23 with the historic Salviati furnace, and maintains a very strong bond with the glass design. The brands with which he has collaborated range from big names to emerging and trendy realities: Kristalia, Foscarini, Molteni & C., Sancal, Cassina, Gallotti & Radice, La Manufacture Paris, Arflex, Ethimo, Casamania, Offecct, Moooi and many others. He also collaborates with Hermès for the creation of the windows of its boutiques.Read more
