The charming lines in typical Mid-Century style of the Bis and Tris table lamps by Fontana Arte make it easy to guess the date: this historical model is in fact taken from the Historical Archive of Fontana Arte and its design dates back to 1954. Strongly decorative, it is perfect to be placed also on desks and consoles. The metal base of the lamp supports a double curved diffuser in sandblasted glass of different shades; the light source is placed inside these two small domes close together and causes the light to reflect on them, spreading delicately into the environment. Bis and Tris differ in the finish: one warmer, with brass base and black upper diffuser, the other more algid, with chromed base and white diffuser.

The real brand was born from the meeting between the latter and Giò Ponti, the first artistic director, leaving an indelible mark on the style of the company, so much that his creations still play a central role in the FontanaArte catalog. Glass and crystal gave the brand an immediate international success since the early years, thanks also to the collaboration with the master glassmaker Pietro Chiesa.Read more
