Ethimo
Rafael Sun Lounger
Precious and singular, the Rafael sunbed by Ethimo is the result of the successful collaboration between the company and Paola Navone, an internationally renowned designer famous for her imaginative ability and clear design intensity. Rafael is an outdoor sunbed that goes well with different contexts such as poolsides, gardens, solariums, terraces and much more. The design is deliberately tribal and rustic, carved into teak wood with a deliberate approximation that makes each line freer and simpler, but no less fascinating. The talent inherent in this randomness is undeniable, as is the wisdom of knowing how to imagine a piece of furniture outside of traditional schemes but full of personality.

The Ethimo company was born from the passion for outdoor design and the stylistic research of furnishings that are able to experience external atmospheres, enhancing natural spaces and colours. The use of excellent raw materials is part of a complete framework that aims to enhance every aspect of the design: from shape to resistance, from sustainability to the renewal of production techniques. Style, as always, is fundamental and with Ethimo it reaches such levels that it can fit into the taste of the whole world, without ever appearing out of place.Read more
Designed by
Paola Navone
Paola Navone (1950-) was trained in the effervescent world of experimental design of the 1970s, training in the Alchimia Studio and collaborating with some of its greatest exponents, including Alessandro Mendini and Ettore Sottsass. From these experiences you have drawn an approach to design devoid of dogma and alien to the dictatorship of formalism, to which you later added your strong passion for ethnic influences drawn from all over the world. In this way, she created her peculiar design without borders, with influences ranging from the Provencal shabby to the African artisan traditions, in an original and highly personal mix expressed in her first experiences with Abet Laminati and with the artistic direction of the Cappellini World line. Among her more successful collaborations are those with Gervasoni, of which she has been artistic director since 1998, and with Baxter, in which she declines her characteristic style in a more precious guise. Among the many brands you have worked with, we remember Casamilano, Driade, Ethimo, FontanaArte, Riva1920 and Molteni & C.Read more
