Moon is one of the flagship products of the brand, an example of style that never ceases to fascinate for its communicative and imaginative power. The material of which it is made, Japanese paper, enhances the internal design aimed at evoking the craters and depressions of the moon. Davide Groppi is in many ways a unique figure in the Italian design scene: at the same time, designer and entrepreneur, but also an artist, he stubbornly pursues his own idea of lighting. Davide Groppi lamps interpret light as a true narrative element, so that every product is much more than a simple object, but is sublimated into a real story. A heterogeneous inspiration, often in the wake of the most extreme minimalism, brings Davide Groppi's creations to reduce the idea to the essential, like haiku of pure light.Read more

Davide Groppi
Davide Groppi (1963-) is an Italian designer specialized in the creation of lamps. His distinctive feature is a poetic minimalism that finds expression in lights with dry and almost invisible shapes, capable of blending into the environment while remaining protagonists. Davide Groppi's lamps are almost metaphysical and impalpable creations, yet always ingenious and cutting-edge from a technological point of view: for example, he was the creator of one of the very first very successful portable rechargeable lamp models with his Tetatet model. All these characteristics earned him the victory of two Compasso d'Oro, both in 2014, for the Nulla lamp and the Sampei lamp. A mechanical designer by training, Davide Groppi began creating lamps in 1988 in a small workshop in the center of Piacenza, obtaining ever-increasing appreciation. A first turning point in his career occurred in 1994, when he met Maddalena De Padova who decided to bet on him by purchasing a large quantity of Baloo lamps for a special display in his shop in Corso Venezia. Another key moment was the sale of the Davide Groppi brand to the Italian Design Brands group in 2018, which keeps Davide at the helm of design and which allows the company to significantly grow in size until it is positioned among the most well-known Italian brands in the sector of lighting. Lamps designed by Davide Groppi also appear in the catalogs of other brands such as Boffi and Paola Lenti.
