Marco Piva
Marco Piva (1952-) is an Italian architect who has been the protagonist of many important projects around the world, alongside a fruitful activity as a designer for several successful Italian brands. Specialized in luxury hotels, Studio Marco Piva can boast prestigious projects such as the restyling of the Hotel Gallia in Milan (2015) or the Gran Melià Palazzo Cordusio (2018-23). He is very active in China and also has an office in Shanghai, from which he has coordinated the development of master plans for futuristic urban design projects or ambitious architecture such as the Tonino Lamborghini Towers complex in Chengdu (2019). Marco Piva's career began in the wake of Radical Design with the experience of STUDIODADA, which he founded in 1977 together with some partners after completing his studies at the Polytechnic of his native Milan. The studio’s activity, which ended in 1988, was pioneering especially in the field of the application of computer graphics to architectural design, which was almost unknown in Italy at the time. In his fruitful activity as a designer, which began at the time of STUDIODADA, Marco Piva approached product design with a versatile spirit and great attention to research on materials, giving rise to numerous collaborations with brands such as Horm, Venini, Visionnaire, OAK, Reflex, Kreoo, Ceramica Cielo, Illulian, Alma Design, MisuraEmme, Antoniolupi, Riva 1920 and many others.Read more
