An apparently simple, yet extremely measured design is the element that distinguishes Tamburound, a chair designed for the living space by the Barber Osgerby duo to challenge formality and above all conventions, instead turning its gaze towards a more playful and challenging approach. The backrest of Tamburound rotates as does the seat independently thanks to a particular swivel system invented by Cassina. The steel disc base is solid, ideal for supporting the entire structure. Furthermore, the numerous colors made available by Cassina mean the possibility of diversifying and personalizing the choice, creating a one-of-a-kind composition.

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more

Barber Osgerby
Edward Barber (1969-) and Jay Osgerby (1969-) are the founders of the Barber Osgerby studio, one of the most important names in contemporary British design. They met while studying at the Royal College of Art in London and shared their entire career together, which began in 1996 with the creation of a table for the famous London brand Isokon. Their style, of a refined minimalism often tempered by soft curved lines, was soon noticed by the most fruitful talent scout in the world of international design, Giulio Cappellini. Their creations for Cappellini will open the doors of great Italian and international industry to them, with collaborations with brands such as B&B Italia, Vitra, AXOR, Dedon and many others. Their prominent position in the world of British design is evidenced by the most important public project assigned to them: the Olympic Torch for the London 2012 Games. Their creations are part of the collections of important museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the MoMA in New York and the Art Institute in Chicago.Read more
