Designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina, the La Rotonda coffee table is a graceful variant of the table of the same name, known for the transparency and brilliance of the crystal used as a top intertwined with the solidity of the wooden legs. The almost sculptural interweaving of these three square section legs ensures great solidity to this model, further enhanced by the solid joints obtained directly from the solid wood. Furthermore, the formal elegance of La Rotonda is inimitable, able with a few simple geometries to create suggestions suitable for any room in the house. The La Rotonda coffee table is available in a variety of more than complete finishes, capable of enriching this timeless model with further value.

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more

Mario Bellini
Mario Bellini (1935-) has always remained strongly linked to his training as an architect, managing to bring his characteristic principles into all the very different areas in which he had the opportunity to design. After starting his career as design director at the Rinascente, in 1963 he was called to Olivetti where he became the protagonist of an extraordinary season of technological innovations. In addition to numerous computers and electronic equipment, he also has the opportunity to design the first personal computer in history, the Olivetti P101. Since 1978 he has also had the opportunity to work in the automotive sector, becoming a consultant for Renault. In the field of furniture, too, he holds leading roles, signing some of the most relevant products of the 1970s and subsequent decades for Cassina and B&B Italia. He was director of Domus magazine, president of ADI and eight times winner of the Compasso d'Oro. He has also worked with companies such as Yamaha, Heller, Nemo and Rosenthal. Since the 1980s he has mainly devoted himself to architecture, with projects such as the Natuzzi headquarters in North Carolina, the interiors of the Deutsche Bank headquarters in Frankfurt, the Tokyo Design Center and the Milan Congress Center in the Portello district.Read more
