A minimal taste and an imaginative inspiration have given life to the Gibbous mirror, an extremely characterizing element that lends itself well to living or sleeping situations in a home. No less interesting is its application in formal settings such as offices, waiting rooms and more. Michael Anastassiades conceived the circular shape softened by what appears as a 90° recess that can be used as a shelf or to decorate the corners of the home. Gibbous is made by heating a heavy sheet of glass in the oven that, deforming, yields under its own weight creating a fold. This fold is a unique element, perfect for the most imaginative decorations.

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more

Michael Anastassiades
Michael Anastassiades (1967-), born and raised in Cyprus but a Londoner by adoption, is one of the most interesting names in contemporary design. Master of light, his lamps are all played on essential geometries - they are often composed solely of slender lines, curves and spheres - but interpreted in a surprising and refined way. Able to create a dreamy and metaphysical atmosphere, he has launched a real trend in contemporary design, a poetic minimalism that does not renounce expressiveness. After studying at the Royal College of Art and opening his studio in 1994, the turning point in his career came in 2007 with the foundation of a brand that bears his name, Michael Anastassiades, in which he was able to express for his uncompromising poetry for the first time. The great success achieved led him to become one of the leading names in a brand like Flos, one of the most prestigious in the international design scene. He also had the opportunity to try his hand at the world of furniture for brands such as B&B Italia, Cassina, Roda, Salvatori and Gebrüder Thonet Vienna.Read more
