The Doge table is a masterpiece of Italian design, born from a sculptural structure that became an emblem of the Ultra-rational movement that in the 1960s managed to overcome the limits imposed by the rationalist current thanks to the recovery of traditional aesthetic values. This model is part of the SimonCollezione, later updated thanks to the introduction of new treatments and materials developed as part of the C90 Mutations program. The architectural base defined by thick flat profiles constitutes the soul of the table, further enriched by the detail of the support elements visible thanks to the transparency of the glass. An object of great value, to which is added Cassina's absolute aesthetic and craftsmanship mastery in giving it the connotations of timeless furniture.

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more

It was in those years that he met Dino Gavina, a visionary entrepreneur, for whose brand Simon (now part of the Cassina catalog) will create all his most famous furnishings.Read more
