AEO Armchair
Price starting from € 4.520,00*
*Price valid for the version including the seat cushion with upholstery in fabric cat. E (cod. 650 03 + cod. 650 08).
The AEO armchair has been realized in 1973 by Archimoon, following Paolo Deganello’s design. This unconventional item comes from an experimentation, in contrast to the opulent stylistic shapes in vogue at that time. Under the influence of the understatement, initially the armchair was proposed disassembled in order to allow the customer to assemble it independently, giving life to unlimited customizing options. The structure is in varnished steel and the base in plastic material: the seat cushion, the only padded part, and the backrests are available in several colours and fabrics. Dismountable, washable, light and comfortable: here are the qualities that make the model AEO an example of armchair suitable to any living room and any customer’s taste.
W.79 x D.75 x H.107 cm

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more
Designed by
Paolo Deganello
Paolo Deganello (1940-) was one of the great protagonists of the Radical Design adventure in Italy. Born in Veneto, he studied architecture in the 1960s at the University of Florence and it was there that he obtained one of his first assignments as a designer, in 1963 restoring some rooms of the church of Orsanmichele. Shortly after graduating he became one of the founding members of the Archizoom Associati group, together with Andrea Branzi, Massimo Morozzi and Gilberto Corretti. Through Archizoom he was among the first to advocate in Italy an overcoming of the rationalist style in vogue at the time, riding the atmosphere of renewal and contestation that characterized those years and giving life to great creative ferments. In 1974, after the exhaustion of the Archizoom experience, he founded another design group together with Corretti, Franco Gatti and Lorenzo Querci, the Collettivo Tecnici Designisti, carrying out an intense intellectual work through writing for magazines such as Domus, Casabella and Modo and university teaching in London, Rome and Milan. In 1981 he opened his own design studio with which he worked for brands such as Cassina and Driade. In recent years he has oriented his reflections and practices above all towards the theme of eco-sustainability.Read more
