B&B Italia
Jack Bookshelf
The Jack bookcase by B&B Italia, designed by the master of minimalism Michael Anastassiades, represents a modern and essential pole bookshelves model, with great compositional flexibility. It can be supported by doors that go from floor to ceiling or by uprights fixed to the wall, in order to adapt to different design situations, acting as a divider between two environments or acting as the protagonist of the space with a wall position. With a design of rarefied refinement, in the Jack bookcase the touch of design proposes an unusual interpretation of the support poles, proposing for each span of the bookcase a pair of parallel crosspieces with a circular section connected in the tips by a third element of similar shape. The bookcase can be equipped with shelves of various depths and with storage elements with drawers and flaps.

B&B Italia's strongest ability is to combine creative ideas with design skills, which over the years have led the company to win four Golden Compasses. B&B Italia’s fulcrum is the Research and Development Centre (CR&S), a research laboratory dedicated to the study of the most innovative materials and the industrialization of production processes. The purpose of CR&S is to give life to the most groundbreaking projects of some of the major international designers.
Founded in the late 60's by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli and Cesare Cassina with the name of C&B Italia, the company has disrupted the furnishing industry's rules with a revolutionary industry vision. The ability to turn traditional furnishings production into industrial designs proves today, like yesterday, the strength of the company.Read more
Designed by
Michael Anastassiades
Michael Anastassiades (1967-), born and raised in Cyprus but a Londoner by adoption, is one of the most interesting names in contemporary design. Master of light, his lamps are all played on essential geometries - they are often composed solely of slender lines, curves and spheres - but interpreted in a surprising and refined way. Able to create a dreamy and metaphysical atmosphere, he has launched a real trend in contemporary design, a poetic minimalism that does not renounce expressiveness. After studying at the Royal College of Art and opening his studio in 1994, the turning point in his career came in 2007 with the foundation of a brand that bears his name, Michael Anastassiades, in which he was able to express for his uncompromising poetry for the first time. The great success achieved led him to become one of the leading names in a brand like Flos, one of the most prestigious in the international design scene. He also had the opportunity to try his hand at the world of furniture for brands such as B&B Italia, Cassina, Roda, Salvatori and Gebrüder Thonet Vienna.Read more
