Agape
Bjhon Washbasin
Bjhon 1 Outdoor
The Bjhon self-standing washbasin by Agape bears the signature of one of the names that have made the history of Italian design: Angelo Mangiarotti, of which Agape is exclusively re-proposing many of the most famous creations in an operation of extreme philological accuracy. Designed by Mangiarotti in 1970, Bjhon is characterized by the graceful balance of forms, in which the sculptural monumentality never transcends in a sense of heaviness. It is available in two versions: Bjhon 1, in which the circumference of the basin forms a perfect circle, and Bjhon 2, in which the wash basin has a wider base and a narrower opening thus emphasizing the effect of roundness. They can both be made in marble or Cristalplant and are both also available in the Outdoor version (in this case in the Petit Granit or Cementoskin finishes, suitable for outdoor use). Technical details: the version Bjhon 2 Outdoor is available only in Petit Granit

Agape's corporate mission is to make the constant search for new forms and solutions of the design world dialogue with the traditionally unchanging environment of the bathroom. The result of this research is a collection of bathroom furniture and accessories with surprising shapes, which are able to satisfy the eye and create a peculiar and recognizable aesthetic without sacrificing functionality. To do this, the Benedini family, owner of the company, has managed to make use of the collaboration with several important names of international design, such as Patricia Urquiola, Angelo Mangiarotti and Konstantin Grcic.Read more
Designed by
Angelo Mangiarotti
Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) was one of the great protagonists of Italian design of the twentieth century. Born in Milan, he was one of the founding members of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI), from which he was awarded a Compasso d'Oro for his career in 1994. He has carried on in parallel throughout his life the activity of architect and designer and that of teacher, teaching in some of the most prestigious universities in the world. His career as an architect began with a short but intense experience in the United States, where he got to know some of the world's leading architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Walter Gropius. Back in Italy, he worked for a few years in collaboration with Bruno Morassutti, signing popular projects such as the Casa a Tre Cilindri in the San Siro district in Milan. In addition to housing, Mangiarotti specialized in infrastructure architecture: many of the most important city stations in Milan bear his signature, such as those of Rogoredo and Porta Venezia. His main field, however, remains that of design, where he stands out for his great attention to the use of materials and functionality. He was a great lover of sculpture and art who had a strong influence in his creations, made for brands such as Artemide, Vistosi, Danese Milano and Skipper. Re-editions of his products appear today in the catalogs of brands such as Poltrona Frau and Karakter, while his most emblematic creations are re-proposed by Agape for the Agapecasa line.Read more
