The Sheraton sideboard is one of the timeless symbols of Acerbis production. Awarded in 1979 with the prestigious Compasso d'Oro, Sheraton was designed by the historic owner of the company, Lodovico Acerbis, in collaboration with a versatile and appreciated designer such as Giotto Stoppino. Its classic and timeless shapes are as current today as they were at the time and are made even more vivid by the brilliant glossy lacquer that has always been one of the great trademarks of Acerbis production. The large doors of Sheraton can be completely opened thanks to the innovative slide-rotating opening system and are surmounted by a much wider top than the base, which thus also gives it a console and shelf function.

Designed by
Giotto Stoppino
Giotto Stoppino (1926-2011) was an important Italian architect and designer. Born in Vigevano, he studied under Ernesto Nathan Rogers and then founded the Architetti Associati studio together with Vittorio Gregotti and Lodovico Meneghetti, which remained active from 1953 to 1968 and was among the protagonists of the Neoliberty architectural current, promoted and launched by Rogers himself. After 1968 he opened his own independent studio that ranged from architecture to urban planning to product design, an area in which he is most remembered. In fact, he boasts two Compasso d'Oro victories (1979 and 1991), as well as a Compasso d'Oro for his career awarded to him in 2011. His most important collaboration was with Acerbis, a brand for which he also signed the famous Sheraton sideboard, but he has also worked for brands such as Rexite, Kartell, Bernini, Valenti, Arteluce, Olivari and Poltrona Frau. His works are exhibited at the MoMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. He was president of ADI from 1982 to 1984.Read more
