Stefano Giovannoni
Stefano Giovannoni (1954-) is an appreciated Italian designer who puts humor and fun at the forefront of all his projects. His creations, always rounded and without edges, are pervaded by the playful joy of a child: Giovannoni knows how to transform everyday objects into functional toys, managing to restore joy and smiles even to the most banal actions. His career began in the 1980s, after studying architecture in Florence, when he was one of the founding members of the prolific bolidist movement, whose guiding principle was a recovery of the rounded and dynamic forms typical of the American streamlining style. The founding of the King-Kong studio together with Guido Venturini also dates back to the 1980s, while the collaboration with Alessi began in 1989 which would lead him to great success. In addition to the countless creations for the table created with Alessi, a brand for which he will become one of the leading brands, Giovannoni also has the opportunity to try his hand at furniture especially through his creations for Magis, among which the iconic Bombo stool stands out. In 2016 he reinvented himself once again by founding the Qeeboo brand, the perfect interpreter of his aesthetic between experimental and pop, of which his multifaceted Rabbit stool becomes a symbol, declined in ever-changing variants. Stefano Giovannoni has also worked with brands such as Vondom, Ghidini 1961, Slide, Tubes Radiatori and many others.
