Paola Navone (1950-) was trained in the effervescent world of experimental design of the 1970s, training in the Alchimia Studio and collaborating with some of its greatest exponents, including Alessandro Mendini and Ettore Sottsass. From these experiences you have drawn an approach to design devoid of dogma and alien to the dictatorship of formalism, to which you later added your strong passion for ethnic influences drawn from all over the world. In this way, she created her peculiar design without borders, with influences ranging from the Provencal shabby to the African artisan traditions, in an original and highly personal mix expressed in her first experiences with Abet Laminati and with the artistic direction of the Cappellini World line. Among her more successful collaborations are those with Gervasoni, of which she has been artistic director since 1998, and with Baxter, in which she declines her characteristic style in a more precious guise. Among the many brands you have worked with, we remember Casamilano, Driade, Ethimo, FontanaArte, Riva1920 and Molteni & C.
