The ‘60s marked a turning point for Molteni&C. In 1961, Angelo Molteni was among the founders of the first Salone del Mobile (I Saloni), and seven years later, under the artistic direction of Luca Meda, the company welcomed the modern style leaving the classic furniture production. In this way, the taste furniture revolution started with the help of many famous Designers and Architects. To name but a few: Yasuhiro Itoh, author of the famous MHC.2 bookstore, Aldo Rossi and Pierluigi Cerri.

The opening up to the international market in the next decade marked a thriving period for Molteni, which enriched the furniture’s catalog with famous modular systems, modern wardrobes and storage units with technical and sophisticated products of craftsmanship such as tables, chairs and armchairs, modern sofas and beds. In the ‘80s, the Unifor brand, entirely specialized in the office furnishings, became part of the Molteni Group.
