Founded in 1967 as a small artisan workshop, the company began to take its current form only from 2001, with the management of Jacob Gubi Olsen, the founder’s son, who directed the production first on office furniture and then towards the creation of the characteristic Gubi lifestyle that still characterizes the company today. Among the brand’s bestsellers, the Beetle chair stands out, designed by GamFratesi and already considered a classic of contemporary design.
One of the cornerstones of Gubi production are the re-editions of great forgotten classics of design, such as the Adnet mirror by Jacques Adnet, the Bestlite series of lamps by Robert Dudley Best, the Gräshoppa floor lamp by Greta M. Grossman, the pendant lamp Multi-Lite by Louis Weisdorf or the table lamp 5321 by Paavo Tynell, with its Art Decò shapes. Among the contemporary products, the Gubi chair and stools by Komplot Design stand out.
